A boxing charity helping keep youngsters away from crime has celebrated its 15th birthday.
Fight for Peace, which has an academy in North Woolwich, was originally set up in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in July 2000.
Starting out with just 15 young people, it has developed into a global organisation.
“The growth of Fight for Peace demonstrates that we are on the right track,” said founder and director Luke Dowdney.
“Fight for Peace exists to support young people in communities affected by crime and violence by creating opportunities and helping them access existing ones.”
In addition to its two academies, it works with 135 partner organisations in 25 countries to expand its methodology.
As part of its anniversary, a new logo has been unveiled, along with a new website and a partnership with Reebok, which will see Fight for Peace be provided with a percentage of profits from its combat sports range.
