A community choir who reached the final of a BBC competition have got behind this year’s Christmas Toy Appeal.
Stratford East Singers, who came third in The Naked Choir earlier this year, have donated a selection of toys to the appeal.
Their donation will ensure underprivileged children in the borough have something to open on Christmas morning.
“Stratford East Singers are proud to be supporting the Toy Appeal,” choir member Abena Adofo said.
“For us this is a great cause for people to get behind and support.
“No matter how little someone thinks they’re giving, it can make a huge different to someone else.”
The choir rehearse at Theatre Royal Stratford East, which is one of a number of drop-off points across the borough that is accepting donations of toys and books.
These will then be taken to Community Links’ Barking Road headquarters where they will be readied for delivery in time for Christmas.
There is still time to get involved with the appeal, whether that is through a donation of toys or money, through supporting an event or even organising one of your own.
Every penny raised will be used to purchase even more gifts to allow struggling families to put aside their troubles this festive period and have something to celebrate this Christmas.
