Despite gale force winds children were all smiles as they tried out their new wheels.
The new bikes were all thanks to a donation by the City of London police.
Superintendent Helen Isaac and PC Stuart Ford presented 16 former working bikes to Arc in the Park for future use by children and young people.
The bikes were also given an overhaul by Havebike who will continue to keep them safe and road worthy.
Kevin Jenkins of Community Links said that around 100 children got to take a spin throughout day.
He added that the police donation means the bikes can be put to good use even as their working life came to an end.
He said: “The police are extremely keen that the bikes continue to have benefit in the community.
“The bikes are as good as new. They are worth quite a lot of money still and have plenty of life left in them.”
