More than 25 Newham Sixth Form College students trekked past all the stations on the circle line to support Raleigh International, a charity that brings together young people, to make a difference in some of the poorest communities in the world.

The group raising more than £1,000 from the sponsored charity walk.

Hanson Anthony Fernandes, advanced vocational business student, said: “When we first started the circle line walk at Liverpool Street, I had it in my mind that no matter what happens, I will complete the walk.

“As stations passed, it became more and more interesting - there was never a point where I felt bored.”

NewVIc has partnered with Raleigh International for many years and each year students volunteer to deliver community development programmes in Tanzania, Nicaragua, Borneo and Nepal.
