More than 50 jobs are being created in Beckton as a leading building materials supplier is set to open its latest UK branch.
Selco is planning to employ all their staff for their new warehouse branch, in Alpine Way, from the borough itself.
The 48th Selco branch in the UK will officially open its doors on Monday, March 13.
Chris Cunliffe, chief executive of Selco Builders Warehouse, said: “Opening in Beckton will be of great benefit to the local economy and it is giving people the chance to join a company with fantastic opportunities for career progression.
“Selco’s recruitment policy has always been to employ those from the branch’s local community and that is continuing in Beckton.
“Our aim is to give fantastic career opportunities to people, while allowing them to extend their skillset at Selco.
“The branch will also provide a further boost to tradesmen in and around Beckton and London, as they will be able to enjoy the benefits Selco provides – unrivalled availability, with the widest range of products in stock, as well as excellent customer service and straight trade pricing.”
Charities and community groups are also being given the chance to receive a £1,000 donation to mark the Selco opening.
To enter the competition, you must send in no more than 100 words on how the money would benefit your group.
