A teenager has been charged following a police sting.

Georgie Ashman, 18, of Tarling Road, Canning Town, was one of six male teenagers charged yesterday with possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life.

Ashman was arrested after police seized a vehicle and one firearm in Whalebone Lane North, Chadwell Heath, on Monday afternoon.

Akin Akinkunle, 18, of Turpin Avenue, Romford, also appeared at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court and has been held in custody. Randall Lomanga, 18, of Charlecote Road, Dagenham, was remanded in custody, along with two 17-year-olds from Barking and Dagenham.

A 15-year-old from Romford, who also cannot be named for legal reasons, was bailed.

They are due to appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court on April 26 for a plea hearing.
