Singer-songwriters from the UK and around the world will perform at the latest Upstart Crow Festival in Spitalfields.
Upstart Crow – which has no link to the BBC2 sitcom of the same name – bills itself as a festival dedicated to the art of song. Founder James Burton sought to establish a unique space for authentic and original non-mainstream entertainment.
This year’s headline act is vocalist, composer and animator Ashley Eriksson, best known for the credits theme song in the American animated series Adventure Time as well as her role in the acclaimed pop band LAKE.
Also gracing the stage are: Felix Indian, Trevor Moss and Hannah Lou, Geneses, Robert Corcoran, Emma Harwood, Hank Dogs, Maggie Rose, Gabriel Moreno, Troubadour Rose, Rupert and Ruth, George St Claire and Simon Stanley Ward.
The free festival takes place at Spitalfields Market, Bishops Square between midday and 8pm on Sunday, September 30.
