Police were called at about 1.30pm on Friday, April 4, after the silver hatchback crashed through a low wall dividing the driveways of two properties in Barnmead Gardens, Dagenham.

It came to a stop directly outside the front door of one home, stopping people from being able to get in and out of the house until it was cleared away later on.

Police said they did not believe anyone had been injured in the collision.

Twitter user Drew Steele posted pictures after witnessing the incident.

He said: “The guy driving had past his test a year ago but had only started driving last week.

“He told police that he was parking and instead of pressing the brake he panicked when he pressed the accelerator by mistake.

“He did look physically shaken.”
