Big-hearted students and staff at Dagenham’s Sydney Russell School raised a cracking £1,600 for a children’s hospice – just in time for Christmas.
Baking, sponsored silences, bad hair days, food parcels and sponsored basketball were among the tricks up their sleeve to bag the cash for Richard House in Beckton.
One year group has raised more than £1,300 during 2014 for a variety of charities including Water Aid, Great Ormond Street, RSPCA, Help for Heroes and various cancer related charities.
A spokesman said: “Well done to all the students and staff for their donations and efforts.”
