A celebration of a legendary rock venue’s heyday – where a typical bill would include Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin – will take place on Saturday.

The ninth reunion of the Village Blues Club, which is now known as the Dagenham Roundhouse, will involve reminiscing with rock.

Welsh band Son of Man will headline the night, which is being held at Dagenham Trades Hall, with support from guitarist Deke Leonard.

Walthamstow psych rockers The Green Ray will also take to the stage at the Charlotte Road venue.

Organiser Ken Ansted said: “After a spectacular performance at our reunion in 2015, I had no hesitation inviting Son of Man back for our gathering this year.”

The reunion gig moved to the Trades Hall when the Roundhouse faced closure last year. Now the pub has been made an asset of community value – and the gig will return to its original venue in May. Advance tickets for Friday’s show cost £15 and doors open at 7pm. There will be a limited number of tickets on the door.
