A car was seized and five fines were issued as part of a crackdown on drivers fraudulently using Blue Badges.

An uninsured Ford S-Max was removed from the roads on September 23 when about 100 badges in the borough were checked in a joint police and council operation.

Cllr Laila Butt, cabinet member for enforcement and community safety, said: “Blue Badge cheats are robbing disabled people of their rightful parking space.

“We will continue to crack down and won’t hesitate to prosecute anyone found fraudulently using or selling them.”
