Budding firefighters can join their heroes to ring in 150 years of the London Fire Brigade.
Youngsters can pose for a photo inside a fire engine, try on firefighting gear and watch drill demonstrations at Dagenham Fire Station’s open day on Sunday, October 22.
A bouncy castle, face painting stall, ice cream and hot food vans will be among the many attractions at the Rainham Road North station.
The Playmobil-sponsored event will have toys galore, as well as life size plastic figures on display.
Limited edition goods will be on sale, with 10 per cent of profits donated to the Brigade’s charity of choice.
Firefighters will also relay messages on fire safety and show visitors how to maintain smoke alarms.
Anyone without an alarm in their home can speak to crews to arrange for one to be fitted.
The free event takes place from 1pm until 5pm.
