Grants worth up to £20,000 are up for grabs for groups in Newham and Tower Hamlets wanting to create community gardens.
London Mayor Boris Johnson has launched a £450,000 community fund to help create 100 so-called Pocket Parks across the capital, as part of a £2m investment by City Hall to bring 100 underused urban spaces back into use by March 2015.
The fund offers grants of between £5,000 and £20,000. The deadline for applications is 5pm on July 23. Visit http://london.groundwork.org.uk/what-we-do/major-initiatives/pocket-parks.aspx for the application pack.
