An opportunity to take a key role in the development of a historic 18th century mill in Stratford has become available.

Registered charity the River Lea Tidal Mill Trust (RLTMT) is seeking to recruit board members with the relevant skills and experience to help turn The House Mill on Three Mills Island into a sustainable visitor attraction.

Following the award of a Heritage Lottery Fund development grant, restoration of the Grade I listed building on the River Lea is being carried out, including returning machinery parts to working order, creating learning facilities and installing renewable energy sources.

Newham applicants with a strong knowledge of the area and experience in business management, human resources, legal, fund raising and education are being invited to lead a crucial phase in the project over the next 18 months.

Anyone interested in joining the Trust or working as a volunteer should send their CV to Beverley Chambers at info@housemill.org.uk
