Packed pubs, singing in the streets and England flags flying from windows - sounds familiar?

The mood of the nation was buoyed in 1966 when England lifted the World Cup trophy for the first - and currently only - time.

And while Harry Kane and co were breaking the country’s penalty curse in Russia last night, much closer to home the announcement came that the Champions Statue - erected in honour of the 1966 win - would remain in Upton Park.
