East Ham MP Stephen Timms was among the visitors to a recent exhibition of the Holy Qur’an, which was aimed at promoting community spirit.
The holy Islamic text was displayed in 47 different languages at the Hartley Centre in Barking Road.
Different sections, concerning topics of community cohesion and peace were translated into English and displayed on posters.
More than 70 people joined Mr Timms and East Ham Cllr Lakmini Shah during the evening, which was hosted by the Ameer of the East Region.
