Postal services are not expected to impact on deliveries promise the Royal Mail despite Monday’s 1m relocation of its E16 office to the Gemini Business Park in Beckton.
The closure is part of Royal Mail’s consolidation of processing operations into Mount Pleasant mail centre and other mail centres in Greater London.
Enquiry office services and customer mail collection will remain at the existing site in Burdett Road until February 11.
Collections at the new office will start on February 13.
A company statement said the move will not lead to any compulsory redundancies and improvements in working condition of the 60 staff and better delivery service in the E16 area.
