A FURTHER 100 trees are on their way to Newham over the coming months from City Hall, to bring the London-wide new planting programme by Mayor Boris Johnson to over 9,500 since his election.
Residents and schools are to choosing which species of trees are planted along the streets which are becoming leafier.
Detailed guidance on how to bid for funding for street trees is available from www.ltwgs.org. The fourth and final phase of funding will start in 2011.
