The Diamond Jubilee celebrations at the Bluebell Avenue Estate in Manor Park showed that it takes a community to really party.
With the support of their housing association East Thames, vouchers John Lewis Stratford City, and a grant from Newham Council, the residents were able to do a superb job decorating the Bluebell Community Centre.
Activities for the children included face painting, a fancy dress competition, and a Punch and Judy puppet show while the youngsters adorned the walls with drawings of why they love living in Manor Park.
The adults boogied the night away with a DJ and the sounds of the Newham Community Steel Band who also gave drumming workshops.
