Win £1,000 for Newham poem

PUBLISHED: 15:00 22 October 2012

Newham wordsmiths of all ages are invited to write a poem about the borough for the chance to win £1,000 in cash.

A spokesman for United Press, who are running the competition, said: “We find that poems written from personal observation and experience are the most heartfelt and expressive, so we’re expecting some great entries from Newham and London.”

Up to three entries can be submitted but they must be no longer than 25 lines - each blank line counting as a line - and 160 words in length.

Poems can be posted to Local Poem, United Press Ltd, Admail 3735, London, EC1B 1JB or at before December 31.
