For three weeks, The Hub in Canning Town and Grassroots in West Ham are hosting paintings entirely made from recycled materials including work by celebrated Italian artist Gianantonio Marino Zago.

The exhibition, entitled ‘Zago and Your Friends’, is a collection based on collaboration and social responsibility brought to The Hub and Grassroots through a partnership between Newham NDP and humanitarian charity Emergency UK.

Curator Laurie Cesak said: “I am pleased to be able to work with an exceptional charity like Emergency UK.

“This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase artistic talent, whilst raising money, and bringing awareness to Emergency’s life-saving projects.”

Artwork is on sale for £350 a piece with all proceeds going towards sustaining the paediatric centre in Bangui, in the Central African Republic.

A private view, including a demonstration by Emergency UK and a chance to talk to curators and charity representatives, will take place at The Hub, 123 Star Lane, Canning Town, E16 4PZ from 6pm to 8pm tomorrow (Thursday October 4).

‘Zago and Your Friends’ is at The Hub and Grassroots daily until October 16.
