It has been 50 years since the death of Hollywood legend Marilyn Monroe.

But such is her star status even now people still talk about the mystery of her sad passing.

To mark the screen goddess’s death Getty Images Gallery in Westfield Stratford City presents an exclusive collection of artwork and memorabilia. It ranges from Monroe’s early years as an aspiring actress through to her rise to international stardom.

Showing from Friday until June 3, the Marilyn exhibition will showcase a diverse selection of prints and video content.

Myf Ryan, general manager of Marketing UK, says: “This is an exciting exhibition from Getty Galleries as it is full of iconic pieces from such an iconic woman.”

To launch the celebrations, Suzie Kennedy, one of the world’s most famous Marilyn Monroe tribute artists, is due to open the exhibition tomorrow (Thursday) evening.

There will also be fun activities and unmissable offers happening on the night, including a special red carpet, swing dance band and a retro film set.

* The gallery is open from Monday to Friday, 10am-9pm; on Saturday, 9am-9pm and Sunday, noon-6pm. Admission is free.
