Have you always wanted to find out what it takes to pull of those talented circus tricks that the performers take on so effortlessly?

You may just be able to find out and even learn a few tricks of your own when one of the country’s leading circus companies comes to Stratford next weekend.

NoFit State, a contemporary theatrical company, will be making their debut on the streets outside Stratford Circus and in the Olympic Park between Friday and Saturday.

The event which will be part performance and part workshop will feature a colony of acrobats, aerialists and musicians who will explode from their caravan homes to transform the area around Theatre Square into an exciting circus village.

Tania Wilmer, director at Stratford Circus, said the company were excited to be hosting the family event.

She said: “Visitors can expect to be wowed by some amazing contemporary circus – there will be acrobats, tightrope walkers, trapeze artists and more, along with live music and incredible stunts.

“Audiences should also expect the unexpected, you never quite know what tricks the artists might have up their sleeves.

“NoFit State are the masters of their genre and perform worldwide to sold-out audiences.

“Stratford Circus Arts Centre is delighted to bring this company to Newham for the first time ever and give audiences a chance to see them perform for free.”

During the three day spectacle, audiences will be able to play an active part and learn the skills of a circus performer through workshops organised by highly-acclaimed artists.

Tania said: “Audience members are an important part of this performance, as the show seamlessly combines impromptu workshop sessions – you may get to test your balance on the tightrope, or learn hula hooping from an expert.”

She added: “We are thrilled to bring this phenomenal company to Stratford and to the Olympic Park for the first time ever.

“NoFit State is contemporary circus at its most spectacular and fun.

“Presenting this free world class event is just one of the many things Stratford Circus Arts Centre is doing to make sure the benefits of east London’s regeneration are available to and accessed by local people.

“We will continue to bring artists of this calibre to Stratford for everyone to enjoy.”

NoFit State is the UK’s leading large-scale contemporary circus company.

It has held performances across 15 different countries and attracted audiences of more than 250,000 people.
