A colourful and engaging landmark has been built in Shoreditch to interact with people and its surroundings.

The Mood Stream is a live installation in Old Street using new technology to produce graphic displays based on the mood of those that come to see it.

The piece coordinates with Twitter to create the original and constantly shifting artwork.

This technology works by people tweeting their mood with #OldSt24_7 this is then displayed on the 4 meter high screen alongside a graphic display.

The installation is scheduled to stay up for 12 months as a landmark feature of The Bower, a new commercial development to cater to technological and creative professionals.

Over time The Mood Stream will use the tweets that people send to collect information about the overall mood in the area and formulate artwork to compliment it.
