A man has been arrested after a bank in East Ham was vandalised. 

Officers from the Metropolitan Police were alerted to two men in balaclavas vandalising cash machines at the Barclays bank in High Street North at 2.57pm on May 6.

The bank has been pictured covered in what appears to be red graffiti. 

White stencils on the bank's walls and windows read: "When Palestine is occupied, resistance is justified" and "We will never forget thieves on stolen land".

One man, Mohammed Kamali, 42, of no fixed address, was arrested and has been charged with racially or religiously aggravated criminal damage. 

Police are continuing their investigation to trace the second man.
