Culture vultures can enjoy cut price tickets thanks to a partnership between London’s newest neighbourhood and a Stratford theatre.
East Village has teamed up with Theatre Royal Stratford East in new partnership to offer Newham residents theatre tickets for just £2.50.
The scheme, called Newham’s Discount Nights, will be launched on September 17, allowing residents to benefit from the low prices in time to see Love N Stuff, a new comedy by the award-winning writer Tanika Gupta.
Kerry Michael, Artistic Director of Theatre Royal Stratford East said: “We’re delighted to be working with our new neighbours East Village and Triathlon Homes on this important new partnership that is set to offer Newham residents a fantastic opportunity to see great theatre for just £2.50 a ticket.”
East Village is London’s newest neighbourhood on the doorstep of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and a short walk from Theatre Royal Stratford East in Gerry Raffles Square.
Love N Stuff stars Rina Fatania and Tony Jayawardena, both Wah! Wah! Girls cast members. It runs from September 13 to October 5.
The comedy is the touching story of Stratford couple Bindi and Mansoor. After 35 years of loving marriage, Mansoor has tired of London life and vows to return to Delhi. Bindi, however, is determined to stay put and has assembled a host of friends and neighbours in a bid to convince her husband to change his mind.
The Newham Discount Night for Love N Stuff will take place on September 17 at 8pm. £2.50 tickets will be available for Newham residents who are first-time bookers (proof of address required. Call 020 8534 0310 to book. Offer not available online).
Further Newham Discount Nights will take place for Crowning Glory on October 17, Dick Whittington on November 28 and Oh What a Lovely, War on February 1 2014.
