Dancers from Newham have got through to the final 30 contestants on TV talent show Got to Dance.
Louise Davies, from Stratford, is a member of commerical hip hop group Collective Ent who will be joining Gaana Rajas from East Ham in South Indian dance group Gaana Rajas to compete in five live shows for a £250,000 cash prize.
Year Nine St Bonaventure’s student Tyrus McKenzie, 13, has also made it through to the semi-finals along with his sister, 16-year-old St Angela’s and St Bonaventure’s Sixth Form student, Luchia, who dances with him in street dance crew Intelligent Minds Dance (IMD).
The Sky One programme, hosted by Davina McCall, will pit the final 30 against each other in a public vote every week for a place in the top ten to perform in front of 6,000 people at the Kensington Olympia on March 17.
Rod Stewart has added a second and final show to his ‘Time’ tour at The O2 in London in September.
