Meeting Mr Boom! incorporates an inflatable set that portrays a Picasso-inspired landscape to capture the audience’s imagination.

The story follows a young girl and her journey of transformation in an ever-changing, dreamlike world.

She meets new friends and learns to adapt to a beautiful but unpredictable environment.

The initial idea was born from a collaboration by choreographer Darren Ellis and composer Ronen Kozokaro.

Both agree that the personalities of the contributors give the show its essence.

Ronen said: “I find the process of collaboration with a choreographer a fascinating one and in the case of Meeting Mr Boom! it is extra special.

“It felt fresh from the moment we decided to use an inflatable set as the base for our show.”

Darren said: “The performers have lent their personalities to the play. It is always a collaboration for me when you are working with other artists – everyone has made this story together.”

He added that the challenges of performing on an inflatable set showed how talented the dancers and musicians are.

The interaction between them and the set makes the complex ideas explored in the play accessible to children.

Darren said: “It is almost a creative playground. I really hope that children relate to a lot of the things in it, and adults can find their inner children. After the show the audience get to go on the set and play.”

Meeting Mr Boom! is on March 8 at 11.30am and 3pm. Tickets range from £6 to £24. Call 0844 357 2625 to book.
