Could Lady Gaga be on course to play Amy Winehouse in a film? Not if the late singer’s father has anything to do with it.
The 26-year-old singer previously expressed interest in portraying the Back To Black vocalist, who was found dead a year ago in her Camden home at the age of 27.
However, Mitch Winehouse isn’t keen on the idea.
The former taxi driver told the Daily Star newspaper: “If Gaga gives me £10million I will consider it.
“I think it might be advisable to get an English actress, although Gaga has got the look about her. It is something which we might think about.”
The 60-year-old parent had previously disapproved of a biopic of his daughter’s life.
He said in December: “It would hardly be a biopic without the music and we’d never allow the songs to be released.”
Lady Gaga has admitted Amy had a huge influence on her before she became famous and said people used to mistake her for Amy when she had dark hair.
She said: “I loved her so much. I was nobody when she was first coming out.
“I had really dark hair and all the time on the street people would go: ‘Amy!’ They’d scream at me, thinking that I was really her.”
Rod Stewart has added a second and final show to his ‘Time’ tour at The O2 in London in September.
