As a thankyou for their patience during construction of the Emirates cable car across the Thames between Newham and Greenwich, Transport for London is giving away 2,500 free return tickets to some of those residents affected by the works.

Head of Emirates Air Line, Danny Price, said: “Throughout construction we had been communicating with these residents and wanted to offer them the opportunity to experience the Emirates Air Line for themselves and thank them for their patience during the building phase.

In the first fortnight of the £60m project more than 130,000 passengers have taken a ‘flight’ across the River Thames.
