Dr Who will battle versions of his Dalek nemesis dating all the way back to the Time Lord’s first appearence on telly.
The production team searched for as many original versions of the metal-encased aliens as they could for the upcoming first episode of the new series.
And one extra-special prop they located was a Dalek used 45 years ago in ‘The Evil of the Daleks.’
Dr Who brand manager Edward Russell said: “The one from ‘The Evil of the Daleks’ is real, the rest are replicas from the 60s.
“That is a prop from a long time ago.”
It looks like Dr Who will never rid the universe of his heavily armed and vindictive arch-enemy.
A senior figure in the production said Daleks shall always feature in the show.
“The Daleks will always come back to ‘Doctor Who’, every time we say we’ve wiped them out it is definitely a lie. They will always return,” said Steven Moffat.
Main stars Matt Smith - who plays the titular Time Lord - Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill took part in the Q&A as well as executive producer Caroline Skinner.
‘Asylum of the Daleks’ will air on BBC One in September.
Avengers Assemble actor Thom Hiddleston and Doctor Who writer Mark Gatiss are to star in a West End production of Shakespeare’s Coriolanus.
