Strictly Come Dancing judge Bruno Tonioli has named his top three worst contestants in the show’s history.

The judge chose Kate Garraway, Fiona Phillips and Ann Widdecombe as the least talented dancers from the programme.

The former GMTV hosts and the Tory MP have all taken part in the BBC One show and while they have been hit with viewers, Tonioli wasn’t impressed with their moves.

When asked who the worst contestants have been, he said: “The GMTV girls - Fiona Phillips and Kate Garraway - danced as though their bodies had been filleted of all bones.

“And Ann Widdecombe, bless her, was just dragged round the dancefloor week after week. I don’t think it’s ever been so well polished.”

Tonioli said he loves being a Strictly judge and can still remember his first audition almost 10 year ago.

He told HELLO! magazine: “It was like the search for who would play Scarlett O’Hara in Gone with the Wind.

“I lost count of how many auditions I did. In the end, I decided I couldn’t be Beastly Bruno, so I went for being the court jester, which worked like a dream beside the much more sober Len Goodman.”
