Brazilian-themed festival at Rich Mix, Jogo Bola, is set to continue throughout July with additional events celebrating the culture of the region.
The launch of Brasiliance Weekend will showcase a programme based on real-life stories of Bralizian immigrants in London from the ‘60s to the ‘80s.
The event, running from Saturday to Sunday includes screenings of oral history videos, with a themed book London Pathways, Heritage, Identity and the Imagnation on display.
There will be a community theatre workshop, a play and live Brazilian music.
The Amazon Film Festival from July 10 to 14 focuses on Brazil’s northern region in the heart of the Amazon rainforest.
This will string together a collection of films, documentaries and shorts produced by local filmmakers covering religious, socio-political and environmental issues.
All the screenings will be followed by a grand Amazonian Party from 10.30pm to 1am.
A photo exhibition, Visions of the Amazon, will also be displayed in the Lower Café Gallery featuring images from local photographers and the environment through their eyes.
