The changing face of Newham will be portrayed through artwork at The Hub in Canning Town.
The ‘Before London 2012’ exhibition by the artist Allan Williams will sit alongside pieces from local and international artists.
The project will record how the site has changed after development to the Olympic Park.
It is made up of painted portraits and audio recordings of the memories, stories and experiences of the older community who have lived in the area.
Curator Laurie Cesek said: “I am pleased to show visitors the regeneration of Newham through art, in particular the Olympic site and how it is positively shaping the area,
“The end result is not only a visual spectacle, but will serve as an archive for the people of Newham.”
The Newham New Deal Partnership exhibition will run everyday from July 5 to July 31, including a ‘Private View on JUly 12 between 6.30pm and 8.30pm.
The comedian Eddie Izzard has hit out at London Mayor Boris Johnson whilst maintaining he is ready for the challenge of pursuing politics himself.
