The rink skipped by A Bashir Patel was the only shining light on the night.

His team of Moosa Patel and Frank Adams had a good start and led for some time until the Phoenix team skipped by Neil Warren stepped up a gear to reduce the lead, but Patel’s team held on to win 16-12. Skip Yusef Saeed’s rink with George Gale and Dilaver Master battled to keep up with J Griffiths’ team but could not break them down and lost the game 12-21. Harry Morley and his team of Yaqub Karim and Peter Chilkes fared no better and found themselves up against a strong Phoenix team skipped by Ron Harris.

Despite some individual good shots Morley’s team were outclassed on the night and lost the game 11-24 and sealed a heavy defeat.
