Stratfford Judo Club return with medal haul

Stratford Judokwai members took part in a recent London feeder event that prepares new and inexperienced players for the London Youth Games, with 10 returning having won medals.

Golds went to 11-year-old Rosie Bell in the under-25kg category; Lena James (10) under-44kg; Theresa Asare (14) under-50kg; Mansure Aslakhanov (8) under-30kg; David Garrod (11) under-42kg and Kevin Mateescu (9) at under-31kg.

April Caine (13) and Jay Celaire-Clarke (11) took silver in the under-74kg and under-38kg respectively, while eight-year-old Gabrielius Uosis won bronze in the under-42kg section, as did Arnas Uosis (9) in the under-45kg.

The event was held at Brunel University in Uxbridge.
