UEL rower takes fifth place in World Championships
UELSports Scholar, Alan Sinclair, took fifth place with his crew in the final of the men’s four at the Rowing World Championships last weekend.
The 28-year-old, who is studying Developmental Psychology at UEL, was rowing at the competition in Chungju, South Korea in a new GB line-up with teammates Nathaniel Reilly-O’Donnell, Scott Durant and Matthew Tarrant.
Having come through the semi-finals, Alan said: “Our crew’s goal here was just to make it to the final, but now we’ll try to take a step forward.” They did just that, securing fifth place in their first World Championships final together - a fantastic achievement for the new team.
UEL is seeking new Sports Scholars from September, and through clearing there are still places available on certain courses. For information visit http://www.uel.ac.uk/sport/highperformance/ and to apply through clearing please call our clearing centre on 0208 223 3333.
