Calverton pupils celebrate their latest tennis success

Calverton Primary School pupils served up more tennis success against their Newham rivals recently.

The A team topped their group in the year five/six competition after winning all of their matches to set up a final clash with St Joachim’s.

And Calverton proved too strong for their opponents as they claimed a 6-0 win to be crowned champions.

The B and C teams also impressed in the other section of the competition to finish first and second, with the Cs then winning the final 4-2 to claim bragging rights over their classmates.

Success sees Calverton A earn the right to represent Newham at the London Youth games finals at Crystal Palace later this month and they will join the year three and four pupils at the event, following their earlier triumph.

Teacher Rob Cooper said: “Thanks goes to Pat Hector from the Langdon Academy Sport Partnership who hosted the final competition, which was run very well.”
