With the Rugby World Cup drawing ever closer, fans can relive the glory of England’s 2003 triumph with a new behind-the-scenes documentary Building Jerusalem.

The film will be satellite screened across the UK for one night only with a live Q&A on the evening of Tuesday September 1 and is available on Blu-ray and DVD from September 15 courtesy of Kaleidoscope Entertainment.

It will also be available to download digitally through various digital platforms from September 11.

From the co-producer of Oscar-winning ‘Man on Wire’ and ‘Senna’ (line producer), Victoria Gregory, and Emmy nominated director, James Erskine (Pantani: The Accidental Death of a Cyclist, One Night in Turin. From the Ashes), Building Jerusalem combines scintillating match action, extraordinary original interviews with key players including Jonny Wilkinson OBE, Sir Clive Woodward, Martin Johnson CBE and Matt Dawson MBE, alongside never before seen behind-the-scenes and exclusive match footage.

November 22, 2003 – the day of the Rugby World Cup Final.

After six weeks of gruelling competition, England is battling reigning champions Australia.

The two teams are inseparable after 80 minutes: the game drags deep into extra time: just two minutes are left on the clock.

England rumble to within 40 yards of the posts. The ball is sent spiralling back to Wilkinson, the golden boy of English rugby, in a split second he drop kicks for goal and a chance for sporting immortality...

Building Jerusalem is described as an astonishing story of pressure, expectation and courage, tracing the roots of success back to the professionalisation of the game in the 1990s, culminating in that glorious World Cup campaign of 2003 that turned Woodward’s poisoned chalice into a golden cup.

It has been described as “an absolute must watch for all rugby and sporting fans this summer.”
