Rower ready for action
Constantine Louloudis was the last member of Team GB’s 52-strong rowing squad to be confirmed for the Olympics.
The 20-year-old Londoner had struggled for much of the year with a back injury, but is now looking to make his mark on a home Games in the men’s eight.
The Oxford University student won gold at the World Under-23 championships in the men’s pair with George Nash last year, having also helped his crew win the 2011 Boat Race.
He said: “I’m delighted to have been selected after such a long period of doubt.
“I can’t wait to race at the Olympic Games this summer in London.”
GB rowing team leader David Tanner added: “It is good news that Constantine Louloudis is now fully recovered from his injury and as an exciting, young prospect I’m sure he can really add something to our men’s eight.”
Mark Pettini kept his cool to see Essex to their second LV= County Championship Division Two victory of the season by beating Glamorgan by five wickets with seven balls to spare at Cardiff.
