London Lions have announced that captain Mike Martin has returned for another season with the club.
Martin, with a career average of 16 points a game led the line for the Lions play-off run last season despite suffering a serious knee injury.
The 6’6” Martin has captured every domestic honour in the game, Championship, Cup, Trophy and Play-Offs), and is keen to start taking some major scalps as the Lions move to the Copper Box Arena.
“I’m chomping at the bit” said Martin. “Last season was a wealth of many experiences, leading a group of English players to the Playoff’s, having to adapt my game to the injury but most importantly managing the expectations of a London team, this season is going to be even more fun.”
He added: “We all know the massive potential we have here in London, Vince is always saying potential is nothing, go and do it, and now is the time for us to really get to grips and let people know what we are about on the court.
Lions Head Coach, Vince Macaulay was delighted with the capture.
He said: “Mike has scored nearly 4,000 points in the BBL but he brings so much more to us than that, his presence is always a calming influence and I’m so happy he’s returning .”
