London Lions have confirmed that Londoner, Jerelle Okoro, will return for a full season in the capital after joining in March 2018.

Joining late in the season, Okoro seemed to slot quickly into the Lions’ system as his athleticism saw him play the wing spots.

Hitting five points a game on 43% shooting he averaged 14 minutes a game.

An alumnus of Hackney Community College, before moving to Leicester where he completed his university studies, the 27-year-old Okoro then joined the Manchester Giants for the 2015/16 season where he was one of the bright lights.

Lions’ boss, Vince Macaulay said: “Jerelle is a real asset, he brings strength and toughness as well as athleticism, he works very hard and defensively I think he will grow a lot this year.”

Okoro added: “I want to get better every day and the environment here is helping me do that, I’m ready for the season.”

He joins returnee’s Justin Robinson, Joe Ikhinmwin, Brandon Peel, Paul Guede as well as Jordan Spencer and Kervin Bristol. Watch out for a player a day for the rest of this week.

As we prepare hard for the season, fans will get to see the team for the first time at the Essex Classic at Brentwood Leisure Centre on September, 8 and 9.
