Ravel Morrison is set to go from east to west London next Friday

West Ham midfielder Ravel Morrison is set to sign a loan deal with Queens Park Rangers at the end of next week as Harry Redknapp’s team look to bolster their automatic promotion hopes.

The 21-year-old has not travelled with the rest of the squad for their warm-weather training in Dubai as he continues to receive treatment for an ongoing groin injury.

The former Manchester United Academy boy has not started a game since the Capital One Cup semi-final second leg defeat by Manchester City, but earlier in the season was something of a revelation as he grabbed five goals.

Negotiations are still ongoing between the two clubs, but it seems manager Sam Allardyce is keen to give the youngster some game time and with the bulk of West Ham’s players now fit, that seems unlikely to be at Upton Park.

Allardyce questioned the commitment of Morrison to the cause earlier in the week, insisting that most players would have declared themselves ready to play, despite his niggly injury.

“At the moment, Rav is still complaining about the problem that he had before - these long-running groin problems,” said the boss.

“He has to realise that now everybody’s fit, there is severe competition here.

“Lots and lots of players throughout the country will be playing with a similar type of injury with the medical team saying ‘You can carry on, it’s not a problem’.”

QPR boss Redknapp has already admitted that he is keen to get the England under-21 international on board for the final push towards promotion.
