With another week gone London24 takes a look at some of the funny, bizarre and controversial things said by sportsmen.

"I am not interested in people who are deciding whether England is where they want to be or whether they want to be somewhere else.

"I have a simple attitude towards it. When people are called up I expect them to come running, get on a bicycle and cycle to the training session if they have to.

"Then they shake hands with everyone and tell everyone how happy they are to be there."

Roy Hodgson on whether Wilfried Zaha will choose to play his international football for England or Ivory Coast.

"I did sense, admittedly in the short time I was involved with 2018, that we just did not have enough people in the game."

Lord Coe on the failings of Englands bid to host the 2018 World Cup.

"Going back to our dressing room after that second leg, I was immensely proud of the way we didnt react under provocation, both staff and players."

Stuart Pearce on the ugly scenes the marred last months England Under-21 win in Serbia.

"I think Ill have to wrestle my mum and dad for it. Thats the type of people they are!

"Theyve still got my England schoolboy caps that theyve never given me back.

"It is special to get that cap. To have played 90 minutes as well, Im delighted with that."

Leon Osman on winning his first England cap.

"If you saw someone score like that on a computer game, youd be surprised, never mind in person.

"Only himself and Lionel Messi are capable of turning a game like he did.

"It was probably the best goal Ive ever seen, especially in a game in which Ive been involved in."

Tom Huddlestone on Zlatan Ibrahimovics goal.

"This is something the footbll world has been waiting for. It will be special. It could be the biggest ever second round draw in FA Cup history."

MK Dons manager Karl Robinson on the FA Cup second round draw against AFC Wimbledon.

"Its killing me not scoring for England.

"It has been a tough two weeks with England when you are not allowed to play. I am glad that is over and to be back involved."

Chris Ashton on try drought.

"If he offers me his hand, as long as it's got a letter in it saying that they agree that what they did was wrong and that theyre going to drop the name Dons, I'll shake it. Otherwise I think well just move on."

AFC Wimbledon chief executive Erik Samuelson calls for Milton Keynes dropping the name Dons and meeting their chairman Pete Winkelman when the two sides play each other in the FA Cup

"It's a mess. I dont know if I can describe it. There are magazines, letters, pictures, clothes, creams, everything, he cannot open the door. If he did it would make a bigger mess."

Fernando Torres on Chelsea team-mate Juan Matas locker

"The England wingers are pretty, really good looking. I just cant wait to go against them."

Australias Digby Ioane ahead of his potential clash with Saracens and England winger Chris Ashton.

"This has reopened a lot of scars. We never wanted this to happen and frankly I feel numb. I won't be going and I know lots of other fans wont be going. Personally I would rather take my girlfriends mother to the garden centre than go to that game.

Simon Wheeler, chairman of the Independent Wimbledon Supporters Association after the FA Cup second round draw against MK Dons became a reality.

"I don't really know who he could be talking about. Is he talking about Charlie Sharples with his bean head or Chris Ashton with his see-through skin? I can see what he means about Ugo Monye, to be fair. He is an attractive man. The Aussies have got some lookers too. I have got my own scoring system, I will do it at home."

Toby Flood in response to Australias Digby Ioanes comments about Englands pretty wingers.

"For some time we were winning championships and they were not in the top four at all so, of course, theyve got closer in recent years but we always managed to get above [them].

"Every year they have a good side and they are always a team that is fighting with us.

"Certainly the results in the two derbies can have a big influence on a qualifying spot for the Champions League."

Arsene Wenger on Tottenham.

"There is.

"Just the noise that erupted in the ground when he walked out to bat ... he hadnt even left the changing room, and you know whos coming in.

"Its always nice to get him, and get him early as well - because hes the greatest player still playing the game."

Graeme Swann on getting Sachin Tendulkar out.
