The London24 sports team have picked this week’s star XI from the 14 Premier League and Football League clubs around the capital. Tweet us your thoughts @London24Sport.

Goalkeeper - Julio Cesar (QPR)

He made a world class double save to keep Tottenham’s Jermain Defoe and Emmanuel Adebayor out early in the London derby and Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas confessed it was a key moment in the match that ensured a 0-0 draw with Rangers claiming a vital point in the battle to beat the Premier League drop.

Defender – Matt Taylor (Charlton)

The former Burscough goalkeeper was superb in the Addicks’ defence, clearing Kevin Phillips’ header off the goal-line inside the first two minutes.

Defender - Mark Beevers (Millwall)

The centre back dealt with the array of Bolton’s attacking threats superbly, keeping chances down to a premium.

Defender - Michael Dawson (Tottenham)

The Spurs centre back didn’t have a great deal to do against QPR but he timed a last-ditch tackle to perfection to prevent Stephane Mbia from marauding through, while his faint touch denied Shaun Wright-Phillips from close range when it looked easier for the winger to score.

Defender – Shane Lowry (Millwall)

The full back was superb for the Lions against Bolton. Took one for the team as his yellow card means he misses the game against Burnley and the FA Cup tie against Aston Villa.

Midfielder - Adel Taarabt (QPR)

The Moroccan was QPR’s main creative spark against Tottenham and he picked out four fabulous through-balls which his team-mates failed to make the most of.

Midfielder - Stephane Mbia (QPR)

The former Marseille man boss the midfield in the first of QPR’s 0-0 draw at home to Tottenham. He gave Spurs’ Mousa Dembele very little change out of their personal battle and tried to offer something in attack but lacked the final ball quality to punish the north Londoners.

Midfielder – Liam Trotter (Millwall)

The former Ipswich Town man ran the Lions’ midfield at the Reebok as they claimed a 1-1 draw. His passing was excellent and he broke up play superbly.

Stiker – Paul McCallum (AFC Wimbledon)

The West Ham loanee bagged a brace but it wasn’t enough as the Dons were held to a 2-2 draw by struggling Wycombe.

Striker – Andy Keogh (Millwall)

Andrea Pirlo, I mean Andy Keogh, scored a very cheeky penalty at Bolton – chipping the ball into the net. Although isolated at times, he was a constant thorn in the Trotters’ defence and caused all sorts of problems.

Striker – Clayton Donaldson (Brentford)

Donaldson bagged a brace for the Bees as they kept the promotion charge going with a 2-0 win at Oldham.
