Midfielder to stay until end of play-offs

Leyton Orient have extended the loan spell of midfielder John Lundstram until the end of the League One play-offs.

The 20-year-old joined the Brisbane Road ranks from Premier League outfit Everton in late March and has made five appearances for Russell Slade’s men in recent weeks.

Lundstram has represented England at under-17, under-18 and under-19 level but has yet to make his debut for Everton.

He had spent time on loan at Doncaster and Yeovil before joining Orient, who missed out on automatic promotion to the Championship on Good Friday after losing at Crawley, while rivals Brentford beat Preston.

Lundstram was restored to the starting line-up against table-topping Wolves on Bank Holiday Monday, when Orient fell to a 3-1 defeat in front of a sell-out home crowd.

Slade’s side entertain Tranmere in their final home match of the regular season on Saturday, before visiting MK Dons on May 3.
