O’s eager to go on a good run.

Leyton Orient defender Scott Cuthbert feels they have to start repaying their loyal fans by moving up the League One table.

Their poor campaign to date has been well documented and they head into Saturday’s home game against Fleetwood Town just two points off the relegation zone.

And the 27-year-old admits it’s about time the O’s rewarded the fans for sticking by them despite their tough start.

“It would be nice if we could put together a little run of good results,” said Cuthbert.

“We need to start picking up wins particularly at home and hopefully we can get the three points on Saturday.

“The supporters have backed us all season long despite the frustrating start we had and it’s important that we start putting some positive results together.”

Following back-to-back wins against Crawley Town and Yeovil Town, Orient had an enforced break last weekend due to Bradford City’s involvement in the third round of the FA Cup.

And while he expressed his disappointment at not being able to build some momentum, Cuthbert admits the break has had it’s plus points as manager Fabio Liverani begins to put his plans into place.

“It has been nice to have a little break and give some of the players some time to rest up,” he added.

“It’s on the back of two fantastic wins and we would have liked to keep the confidence and momentum up but we will take the rest and prepare for Saturday. But the gaffer has been here nearly a month now and he’s had us working hard on the training pitch.

“Every manager has a different style of play. There’s been slight changes and he’s explained what he wants us to do and at the moment it seems to be working.”
