Leyton Orient face Plymouth trip in Capital One Cup first round

The O’s look to shake off the agony of last season’s play-off shoot-out defeat

Leyton Orient will make the long journey to Home Park after being drawn away to Plymouth Argyle in the first round of the Capital One Cup.

The O’s will look to bounce back from the heartbreak of last season’s play-off final defeat against Rotherham United at Wembley, but a long midweek trip to Devon to take on the League Two outfit would not have been one they would have chosen.

Russell Slade’s team beat Coventry City 3-2 in last season’s opening round in the competition, before being beaten by an injury-time goal by Premier League Hull City at Brisbane Road.

The O’s have never faced the Pilgrims in the League Cup, but last time they travelled to Home Park in a league match saw Orient win 4-1 back in May 2011.

The match will take place during the week commencing August 11.
