Tonight’s game against struggling Bristol City comes under the category of must win for Leyton Orient.

After suffering back to back League One defeats for the first time this season against Rotherham and Bristol City, they can ill afford another slip up under the Brisbane Road lights.

A victory will move the O’s back top for 24 hours at least, but manager Russell Slade’s next target is hitting the 75 point mark to ensure his team make the play-offs at the very least.

He said: “That’s our next stop. We need to get there and ensure we’re in the play-offs.

“From there, we’ll see how many games we’ve got left to see if we can push on.

“This is all part of the journey. We can’t sulk and we need to get back to winning ways.”

Elliot Omozusi is an injury doubt after coming off with a groin injury on Saturday. If he doesn’t make it Gary Sawyer is likely to deputise.

Scott Wagstaff, who made seven appearances on loan at Orient last season, and Marvin Elliott are missing for Bristol City while Simon Gillett and Wade Elliott are available to deputise in midfield.

The teams drew 2-2 when they met at Ashton Gate back in November despite Orient twice taking the lead through David Mooney and Dean Cox.

Mooney, who has scored 17 goals this season after his strike against Peterborough, thinks it will be a ‘massive’ game for both clubs.

“Bristol City are at the other end of the table and they’re going to be fighting hard,” the Irish striker said.

“You don’t want to be going to Preston after losing three on the bounce.

“Hopefully we can get a good result. We’ve got to dust ourselves down and go again.”

Mooney thinks Slade will have a selection headache with himself, new signing Chris Dagnall and fit-again Kevin Lisbie all pushing for starting berths.

“It was nice to have Kevin Lisbie back out there with me,” he said.

“I think the gaffer might have a bit of a selection headache now.

“The pitch cut up a bit in the second half on Saturday so I don’t think it’s going to be one for the purists.”

The 29-year-old praised the performance of debutant goalkeeper Shwan Jalal despite the defeat - and he hopes there is no repeat of the late goals which have cost Orient in their last two games.

Tonight’s visitors have only won once away in League One all season - at Carlisle United back in October.

They are likely to include Cardiff loanee Simon Moore between the sticks, linked with a move to Brisbane Road last month as Orient’s goalkeeper crisis intensified.
