Alex Cisak, on loan from Premier League side Burnley, keen to help O’s in bid for League One survival.

Leyton Orient loanee Alex Cisak may have started his O’s career with a 1-0 home defeat to Notts County, but the new goalkeeper is confident the squad can turn it around.

The 25-year-old joined on a one-month loan deal from Burnley last week, but apart from picking the ball out of his net in the 20th minute thanks to Balint Bajner’s deflected effort, he had a quiet evening on Tuesday.

Despite the loss, Australian Cisak feels he has seen enough to believe the O’s can get out of trouble.

“It’s disappointing to start with a defeat, but I thought the boys worked their socks off,” he said. “We had so many chances, but we just couldn’t score.

“There’s a fine line between winning and losing and I think we just need that one win.

“Everyone’s confidence would go up and we would start getting results.”

Cisak enjoyed a spell at League Two side York City earlier in the season as helped the Minstermen move away from the relegation zone during his time there, and he’s now hoping to repeat the trick with the O’s.

He added: “York were in a similar position and we climbed clear of it so hopefully we can do the same here.

“I have got the experience having played a few games at this level before with Oldham, which is important and I just want to be winning games and helping the club move up the table.”
